Our ongoing commitment to responsible development drives proactive approaches to reducing our environmental and operational footprint.
SemCAMS shares Alberta’s vast natural areas with its neighbouring communities. It is with this mutual respect that we approach our project developments and daily operations.
In the early stages of the project planning, SemCAMS seeks opportunities to use existing infrastructure, corridors and developments to minimize new disturbances and decrease our footprint. Several environmental studies have been completed in the planning of this project and proactive steps have been taken towards environmental protection in all aspects of our operations to minimize emissions and limit fresh water usage.
Our safe and reliable history of operating sour gas plants, together with our existing infrastructure, gives us credibility and builds trust with stakeholders, Indigenous communities, our customers and business partners.
Safety is a fundamental responsibility and top priority of every person on our team. Success at achieving world-class performance starts with promoting solutions that minimize risk and ensure the health and safety of our employees and the communities in which we live and work.
We have an excellent safety record and meet or exceed regulatory standards that govern our performance. This includes a full scale Emergency Response Plan for employees and contractors.
- Emergency Response Plans and procedures are in place to respond to incidents
- Trained employees ensure we are prepared
- Emergency coordination with Alberta Energy Regulator and various industry experts
